I designed 26 posters relating to the alphabet using letterpress
This independent study was done while I was attending Indiana University for my BA. The idea came to me when I needed a studio credit in order to graduate. I realized that I was passionate about letterpress and wanted to find a way to in cooperate it into my digital designs. I wanted to experiment with composition and layouts inspired by graphic design movements : minimalism, brutalism, neo-futurism, and collage. Through the guidance of my professor Alexander Landerman, I used a Vanderblit letterpress to print a Gothic 16 typeface onto a piece of paper, scan and vectorized the typeface, and created 26 posters choosing a word of my choice that corresponded to the each letter of the alphabet.
*I have made many flyers and posters, but I believe this independent study shows my versality and ability to adapt to design trends.
